The American Chemistry Council (ACC) , a national trade association representing the world’s leading chemical and plastics manufacturers, currently has an opportunity for Manager, State Legislative & Regulatory Affairs for its State Affairs division. ACC represents its members on public policy issues; coordinates the industry’s research and testing programs; and administers Responsible Care®, the industry’s environment, health, safety and security performance improvement initiative.
The position is responsible for managing a multi-faceted regional state legislative and regulatory program that includes state regulatory monitoring and reporting, coalition and alliance support, member communications and outreach to strengthen the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) state regulatory efforts and legislative outcomes. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, State Affairs – Northeast Region.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in policy/regulatory analysis, trade association support, member services, or other relevant experience. In-depth knowledge and understanding of political, legislative and regulatory processes on the state level, experience in tracking platforms preferred (Policy Note, Lexis Nexis, Quorum, etc.), the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues, projects, tasks, and information/requests as well as the ability to travel, as needed, within the United States are a must.
