Job Title: Fitness Coordinator

Location:  Eastcastle Place

Salary: $18.00/hour (based on experience) | Sign-On Bonus: $1,500

Position Type: Full time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm)

At Eastcastle Place, we’re looking for a Fitness Coordinator who is skilled in wellness programming, group exercise and able to modify exercises to meet the ability levels of the residents.

We are seeking a confident, creative, and patient Fitness Coordinator to join our Life Enrichment team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and leading engaging fitness programs tailored to the needs of our residents across all levels of care, while fostering relationships built on mutual respect and trust. You'll need a positive mindset, a strong backbone, and a heart for service. You’ll work closely with other enrichment staff, nursing personnel, and wellness professionals to ensure our residents are supported physically, mentally, and emotionally through safe and fun physical activity.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Provide one-on-one exercise support for residents with specific needs or goals, while appropriately modeling safe and proper use of fitness equipment and form,
  • Use appropriate format for every class; provides adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down. 
  • Design and lead group fitness classes tailored to seniors, and modify movements to accommodate different levels of fitness depending on participants’ capabilities and/or limitations during class. 
  • Encourage resident participation and provide motivation to improve or maintain physical health.
  • Ability to strategically plan with PT sessions and create a curriculum for PT and group sessions
  • Maintain resident files and assessments related to the fitness program. Maintains necessary attendance/participation and progress reports. Maintain confidentiality and appropriate safeguards on participant health records.
  • Perform initial assessments and orientation for residents to actively participate in fitness programs and activities. 
  • Follow standards for participant and facility of Eastcastle Place safety guidelines.
  • Provide a consistent message of health to Eastcastle residents and staff. 
  • Maintain all fitness and wellness equipment in a clean and safe condition.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and adapt programming to meet varying physical and cognitive abilities.
  • Contribute to Eastcastle’s wellness culture by modeling positive, health-oriented behaviors.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of one-on-one fitness training experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience leading group fitness classes 
  • Prior experience working with seniors preferred
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to transport seniors to activities
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Skilled in adaptability, quick thinking, and problem resolution
  • Ability to connect with older adults in a respectful, professional manner
  • Positive, creative, and proactive approach to health and wellness
